COVID Vaccination Programme
We are delighted to announce that together with the MSV Practices (Syston, Melton and Vale) we have achieved over 8000 COVID Vaccines since the start of the roll out. By 15th February, all patients over 70 (including care homes and housebound patients) and clinically extremely vulnerable patients will have been invited. The pace does not stop and clinics will be ongoing. We are proud of the efforts, safety and professionalism of our COVID Vaccination Programme. We look forward to inviting you all when we can.

Patients will be contacted in order of clinical need as set by national guidance (see here). In order to keep the phone lines free for people with urgent medical problems please DO NOT contact the surgery about the vaccination until we have asked you to book your appointment. Regular updates will be posted here on the website. If you read that you fall in to a group who have been invited to make an appointment, but you have not been contacted, then you should of course call the practice to let us know. Please make sure we have your up to date contact details as this may lead to a delay in inviting you if we do not.

Booking Your Appointment with AccuBook
We are now using a new online booking system for booking COVID Vaccination Appointments. When it is your turn to be contacted, if you have a mobile phone you will be sent a text message with a link to book your appointment. If we do not have a mobile number on your recrods, you will still be contacted by the Practice by phone to book. To read more about this system, please click here.

If you have been invited to book your COVID vaccine appointment you MUST read the COVID vaccine information available here.

If you require transport to and from the vaccine site we are aware the Syston Volunteers Service are able to provide transport for the cost of £10 for a round trip. The volunteers are all DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checked. They can be contacted on 0116 2607888.

Government Response to Danish, Nowegian and Icelandic authorities temporarily suspend the AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccine
This is a precautionary measure by the Danish, Norwegian and Icelandic authorities. It has not been confirmed that the report of a blood clot was caused by the AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccine. People should still go and get their COVID-19 vaccine when asked to do so. Read the full response here.
